Our first and biggest thank you goes out to Coach Kelley Kirkpatrick. Mount Vernon's debate team has a reputation for being the KINDEST, MOST fun and overall wonderful team to compete against and this is largely due to the standards that Kelley maintains for her students. This extends to the invitational that MVHS hosts (which is the LARGEST IN THE STATE!!). MVHS is known for it's judges lounge, where we take care of the hard working judges who make tournaments possible. This again is a standard of excellence fostered and maintained by Kelley, with the help of many MANY volunteers (chances are if you are a team member parent or guardian you WILL be asked to help make this happen!)

Kelley is there for our kids. She's managing a million things at once and always keeps an eye out for who isn't eating enough, who is struggling, and who could use a little extra support, all while judging, organizing, planning, and coaching. It is clear to see debate is her passion and her goal is to push her students to excellence.
